Unit – II

1. Alkanes, Alkenes & Conjugated Dienes

SP3 hybridization of alkanes, Halogenation of alkanes, Uses of paraffins.
Stabilities of alkenes, SP2 hybridization of alkenes.
E1 and E2 reactions and it’s kinetics order of reactivity in an alkyl halides molecules and rearrangement of carbocations Saytzeffs orientation and evidences. E1 verses E2 reactions Factors affecting E1 and E2 reactions. Ozonolysis and electrophilic addition reactions of alkenes Markownikoff’s orientation, free radical addition reactions of alkenes, Anti Markownikoff’s orientation.

Unit – III

1. Carbonyl Compounds (Aldehydes & Ketones)

Unit – V

1. Carboxylic Acids

Acidity and effect of substitutions of carboxylic acids and their inductive effect and qualitative tests for carboxylic acids on amide and ester also.
Structure and Uses of Lactic acid, Acetic acid, Succinic acid,Tartaric acid, Citric acid, Salicylic acid, Oxalic acid, Benzoic acid,Methyl salicylate, Benzyl benzoate, Dimethyl phthalate, Methyl salicylate and Acetyl salicylic acid.

2. Aliphatic Amines

Basicity and effect of substituent on Basicity. Qualitative test Structure and uses of Ethylenediamine, Ethanolamine, Amphetamine.
